Viktória Kiss

The visions that give inspiration for the paintings of Viktória Kiss are instinctive. „I have no previously developed concepts. The driving force comes from the direct experience, the observation, the memories and the playfulness of accidental events – all of them combined with an observing, chategorising and archiving attitude. I can only interpret the paintings afterwards. The first piece of a series is usually spontaneous.” There is some kind of conflict hidden in the depicted scenes, the cited stories are dramatic –not obviously, but in a cunningly suggestive way. Her works are characterised by stilised forms and strong colours, minimal, simplified space and loose, soft ornamentics and recently a striving after plasticity.
