Gitta Pap

The topics of the works of Gitta Pap are the results of associations: forms and figures marked by crumpled sheets of paper used as stamps, patches left by liquid solvent or fields of sand applied on the canvas – she paints what she associates from these about the surrounding world, and populates them with people. „Art has a place in everyday life if it reflects on the outside world, thus people are in the focus of my paintings. Humans are self-centred creatures and see themselves only in everything. Vest everything with emotions and characteristics and form the surrounding world to his own image. Thus, as for me, art can only be a part of the universe if we depict ourselves.” (Pap Gitta)
