Ildikó Tompai

Most of the works of Ildikó Tompai are made in that time of the year when she is in an artists’ camp by the Croatian seaside. She only paints during the hours of inspiration, in the fertile state controlled by the inner world of the artist, in which the idea has to be executed immediately otherwise it goes away. The forms of Ildikó Tompai remain realistic, she only gets away from reality in her use of colours which resemble to the colours of the great expressionist predecessors. Her paintings and drawings are characterised by a joyful carelessness.
