Attila Kondor

The philosophically well-founded paintings of Attila Kondor are not only intellectual speculations – the spiritual practice is also an important element: it’s a kind of meditation, which make mental recognitions present through his works. With the help of the material means of painting it strives after the things above the material: the finding of the “experience of wholeness”, the “Grace”. “The creation of a painting is preceded by a meditative moment, when I seriously think about something and examine it from different viewpoints. Thus, through many small discoveries of Thruth a centre comes to exist that transcends thinking, a kind of clear glance, which does not ponder any more, but simply sees. When I paint, I try to revive this and find out how to return to this revelative moment. Only that’s what is important for me in painiting.” (Attila Kondor)
